Tom is an Investment Associate at Signature Ventures. A consulting project in the insurance industry led him to discover crypto in 2016, sparking an ongoing passion for a decentralized future.
During his Ph.D. studies, he explored the relationship between venture capital and the innovation output of biotech ventures. Having experienced the hindering influence of centralized actors on innovation first-hand in academia, he remains fascinated by the permissionless nature and democratizing powers of web3.
When he is not catching up with the latest tech developments through newsletters and podcasts, Tom can be found exploring the Bavarian mountains on skis, a road bike, or by foot. In his remaining spare time, he enjoys racking his brain over a game of chess or visiting the latest Kandinsky exhibitions.
